Assam Flood Relief · August 2026

Upper Assam is still under water.

Families in Sivasagar, Charaideo and Golaghat left home with what they could carry. They are in relief camps now, and the water has not gone down. ₹1,500 sends one family a fortnight of dry rations.

What happened

The rivers rose faster than anyone could move.

Since late July the Brahmaputra and its tributaries have run above danger level across Upper Assam. In Sivasagar and Charaideo the Dikhow breached its embankment overnight. Villages went under with the standing paddy still in the fields.

Whole households are living on embankments, in schools, and in camps run by the district administration. What runs short first is not sympathy — it is rice, clean water and a dry sheet of tarpaulin. That is the gap we are filling.

What your money buys

Everything we send is a fixed kit, costed to the rupee.

Pick an amount and we will tell you exactly what it puts in someone's hands.

₹500
Clean water

Water purification tablets, ORS sachets, soap and a bucket for one family. Camp water is the first thing that makes people sick.

₹1,500
Dry ration kit

Rice, dal, cooking oil, salt, sugar, tea and biscuits — roughly a fortnight for a family of five.

₹3,000
Shelter kit

Tarpaulin, groundsheet, two blankets and a mosquito net. Enough to keep one family dry until the water drops.

₹5,000
Restart kit

Rations, shelter and cooking utensils together — for a household going back to a house with nothing left in it.

Donate

Two taps. Any UPI app.

Fill in your details, and we will generate a UPI QR code with your amount already filled in. Scan it with GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM or your bank app — or tap through to your UPI app directly if you are on a phone.

How this works

You should be able to check us.

Anyone can put a QR code on a page during a disaster. Here is how to tell us apart.

01 · MONEY

Straight to the account

The QR pays a BHIM UPI merchant account held in the name of True Hope Foundation — check the payee name inside your own UPI app before you confirm. If it says anything else, stop.

02 · PROCUREMENT

Bought locally, in Assam

Kits are purchased from suppliers in the affected districts, not shipped from Rajasthan. It costs less, it arrives faster, and it puts money back into a local economy that has just lost its harvest.

03 · PROOF

Every dispatch, posted

After each run we publish the district, the number of kits, the contents and the photographs. Registration and audit documents are available on request.

Questions

Before you give.

Who receives the money?

True Hope Foundation, a registered charitable organisation based in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The UPI account is a verified BHIM merchant account in the Foundation's own name — you will see TRUE HOPE FOUNDATION as the payee inside your UPI app before you confirm the payment.

Will I get an 80G tax receipt?

Yes, if you enter your PAN with the donation. Receipts are emailed once the payment is matched against our bank statement, usually the same day. Our registration and 80G certificate numbers are printed on every receipt.

How much of my donation reaches Assam?

Kits are costed and published at the amounts shown on this page. Where a donation exceeds the cost of a kit, the balance goes to transport and last-mile distribution for the same dispatch. We do not spend donor money on advertising this appeal.

Can I give something other than money?

For a flood response, cash is genuinely more useful than goods — we can buy exactly what the camps are short of, locally, in a day. If you want to run a collection drive or sponsor a full truckload, write to us and we will co-ordinate it directly.

The QR won't scan. What else can I do?

Use the static QR below with any UPI app and type the amount in yourself, or take a screenshot of it and use your app's "scan from gallery" option. If you would rather transfer by NEFT or IMPS, email us and we will send the account details.
